Operation of Pumping Unit (Sucker Rod Pump) is one of the artificial lift techniques are used to help lift the oil from the bottom of the well to the surface of the ground down to the storage tanks.

 The working principle is to change the Pumping Unit Prime Mover of the rotational motion into motion up and down by the system Pitman Crank Assembly, then move up and down with the walking beam forwarded to a motion made in the Horse Head straight up and down (Up stroke and Down Stroke) to move the plunger pump through a series of rod (rod string).

 Thus the oil pumped from the bottom of the well to the surface.
